The Waxahachie Civic Center sits in an elevated plaza on the civic center grounds with bench seating all around.  The feature is a circular raised basin brick structure with a precast concrete cap.  Centered in the basin is a 3.5’ cast iron sugar kettle that is the vessel used to create this simple but elegant display of water.  Sugar kettles were used in the process of making cane sugar back in the early 19th century.  We used a submersible pump for both water display and filtration/water treatment.  The pump is sumped in the basin floor with a fibrgrate cover.  There are 4 LED lights on the perimeter of the kettle attached to the basin floor for illumination of the water display in evening hours.  Water feature controls are installed alongside the building within 20’ of the feature.
